Hill and South Daytona
Central Florida Real Estate Communities
These
are the communities of Holly Hill and South Daytona. There is
a map at the bottom of this page showing locations.
Holly
Hill
Holly
Hill is not well known outside of the Daytona Beach area. Holly
Hill is an independent city of about 15,000 people extending north
from Mason Avenue to about Hand Avenue in the north and from the
Halifax river in the East to just past Derbyshire in the west.
Holly
Hill is an area mixed with business and residential. Home prices
are cheaper than the average in the Daytona Beach area and you
may find some good bargains. Residential areas and houses vary
greatly from street to street.
It
is not entirely clear how Holly Hill will develop. Currently it
is an area of transition. There are great areas and not so great
areas. However because of its central location Holly Hill could
be prime real estate. There are developers who think so and are
buying up the land quickly.
Holly
Hill is very centrally located and you can get to almost anywhere
in Daytona from Holly Hill in only 5 to 10 minutes. This is one
of its great advantages which may make Holly Hill considerably
more valuable in the future.
South
Daytona
South
Daytona is another area not well known outside of the Daytona
Beach area. Having a population of only about 14,000 even the
post office sometimes seems to have some difficulty finding it.
South Daytona is exclusively on the mainland between the Halifax
River on the east, almost to Clyde Morris on the West, from beville
on the north to Herbert St. on the south.
South
Daytona is a little more upscale than Holly Hill and has more
consistent neighborhoods that while they vary are consistent through
a subdivision and do not vary street to street.
Along
the Halifax River there are houses, or huge mansions, worth several
millions with great river views and dock and boating access. Some
of these communities seem so remote and isolated they feel like
they are in a world of their own. These are mansions and properties
that feel like they are privilege and exclusion, some of them
indeed having properties of several or more acres.
West
of Ridgewood there are a variety of residential areas, mainly
3 bedroom bungalows there are also some communities in this area
that are more exclusive. Because south Daytona is not well known
houses in this area tend to be a little less expensive than they
might otherwise be.
