Mary Summers, the owner of Lighthouse Title Insurance Company of East Florida, is jokingly known among the Florida Coast Home team members as, “The Title Babe”.Do not be misled by the cheeky, flippant, jokey title. Mary Summers is no joke! She’s very serious about providing accurate service for all customers to insure there is no defect in the title history of the property you purchase. An accountant by trade, Summers is the owner, for nearly 4 years, of the company. She likes to say she “fell into the title business” more than 7 years ago. Summers was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a title company in North Carolina. While still performing her duties in the CFO capacity she was called upon to be the manager of the entire operation which led to becoming the Vice President of Operations.

Mary is married and has one adult son. She and her husband returned to Florida because of his work in an associated industry. He works for a housing materials manufacturer who transferred him to Central Florida. Upon their arrival in the area Summers established her company.

Summers grew up in Pennsylvania and is the daughter of a pharmacist. Her attention to detail is partly hereditary, partly the result of her environment and partly by osmosis. As she says, “My dad was a pharmacist. You have to pay attention to detail; if not you could kill somebody.”

Summers sees her job as title agent as one that is similarly as critical to the successful transfer of property. That’s why she’s on our team.
