  • All About Janet Fetterman, Real Estate Leader/Innovator

Janet is best described as a semi-native Floridian. Her family moved to Volusia County from Pennsylvania.

Janet graduated from New Smyrna Beach Senior High School and went on to DBCC, graduating and finishing her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Florida. She majored in Public Relations and minored in
    Education and Marketing.

After college Janet moved to Philadelphia and worked in various capacities and fields of business from post-secondary education- private colleges; publishing and aviation.

Janet was first licensed as a real estate agent in Pennsylvania where she practiced with her former husband. The couple built a business around a niche market of foreclosures and by 2001 they had achieved a #14 ranking for highest number of transactions in the Pennsylvania/Delaware Regional RE/MAX market place. That year was 186 transactions.

In 2002 Janet divorced and returned home to Florida to rebuild her life and a new career in her home county. “As an adult I have lived in other states and I’ve worked in other professions which have all led me back to home. Wherever I have lived, I always missed drinking my morning coffee outside on the patio. Our blue skies, warm breezes and lush surroundings are hard to forget and I found it impossible to give up, when you grew up with your days spent in a bathing suit and your nights falling asleep to the sound of the surf pounding the beach. Every day that I’ve been back, I’ve been grateful to be home.”

For fun Janet enjoys boating, reading at the beach and gourmet cooking. She shares her life with Richard Smith who is a residential builder and a retired Police Commander from Hartford, Connecticut. Household members include Mike the Standard Poodle and a new female poodle puppy named Misha.

“Real Estate is my passion. I love the excitement and the intricacies of it all. I consider it quite a privilege to help someone in an endeavor so important as the the purchase of their home.” Says Janet. Her new venture with international marketing is fueled by the desire to share such a wonderful life and lifestyle. “We took few vacations elsewhere when I was growing up. My mom always said, “We live where the world vacations.” and you know, she was right!
